New York In the summer

New York In the summer *
I spent summer 2025 living & working in the city- grinding, learning, growing
Overcoming loneliness and burn out while living in the city that never sleeps.
Doing a job that makes you want to quit and wanting to be great at it still, wishing I could put more into the magazine, nights up late chatting with my Great Aunt- moments that are precious to me.
I had a moment of core-shaking full-circleness at a party at Nordstrom.
This summer, I had the privilege of working as the assistant — and mentee — to Daily Front Row, Inc.'S Fashion News Editor, Aaron Royce.
Aaron and the team took me under their wing, showing me the inner workings of fashion and lifestyle journalism- from hauling branded pillows and 10-pound stacks of magazines up multiple flights of stairs after midnight events to meeting industry legends like Zac Posen. The work covered everything from sensationally glitz-and-glamorous designer previews to the fast-paced, behind-the-scenes hustle - giving me not only the chance to write, but also to shake hands with key industry players and experience what a fashion writer's day-to-day truly entails.
Over the course of my internship, I scoured the internet for newsworthy content, assisted with multiple news shorts, attended press previews for brands like Zimmermann, Gap, Williams-Sonoma, and Nike, and mingled at launches, cocktail parties, and networking events. We also ended the summer with a bang at The Daily's annual Hamptons Most Stylish party, where I assisted with event operations at the stylish gathering hosted by model and businesswoman (YSE Beauty) Molly Sims.
I could not have asked for a better mentorship experience. Aaron offered candid insight into the industry and his career journey, encouraged me to put myself out there and ask for opportunities - reminding me that the worst that can happen is hearing "no". Aaron made me feel like an equal whose insights were valued and presence was meaningful. Most importantly, he encouraged me to share my personality with everyone he introduced me to - no matter how important they were.

A huge thank you also goes to Chief Content Officer Eddie Roche, superstar Marketing Director Nandini Vaid, and my lovely fellow interns, Katie Bradshaw and Christina Sawiki, for making this summer so memorable!
Thank you to Aaron and The Daily team for an unforgettable summer and the chance to be in the room where it happens, gaining firsthand insight and real-world experience in fashion journalism.
